Many of you know me in person but most of you only know what I choose to share about myself on social media, so here's a list of 12 random things you may not know about me...

1. I make up songs for everything. Sometimes I'll go on for hours singing everything I need to say. E V E R Y T H I N G.

2. I'm a bath person. I need to melt into the bath after long or stressful days at school. I can't get enough bath bombs, bath salts and bubble bath soap! It's therapeutic, really it is.

3. I come alive when I'm at work. I love the challenge of both teaching class and sponsoring FCCLA. I've never felt more confident than when I'm in my classroom and it feels good to say I've truly found my calling.

4. I'm not afraid of exploring and going to new places/cities alone. In fact, it's exhilarating. I feel most like myself when I'm walking downtown or sitting at a cafe or coffee shop alone.

5. I connect to the world around me through words. I share my love for others through writing and am pretty much always in the middle of a good book. I am currently reading 3 different books and have a stack of other books I plan to read that I haven't gotten to yet.

6. I am a Big Brother SUPER fan! I discovered this show last summer and have since binged 12 of the 19 seasons they have on CBS All Access. No shame in my Big Brother game.

7. There's nothing better to me than a summer day spent at the Greenbelt hiking and soaking up the rays with the locals. This is one of the best things about summertime in Austin.

8. I'm not always the neatest person, but I find great satisfaction in cleaning and organizing my mess. Almost as much as I do making the mess in the first place!

9. My closest friends are middle aged women. I've always been told I was an old soul, which makes sense because the people I connect with most have a few more years of experience in life than I do.

10. I am a homebody in the winter months. I love to be bundled up inside on cold days. I've created my perfect zen zone and I like to spend as much time as possible enjoying it.

11. I love to create, whether it be through writing, crafting, photography or creating succulent arrangements. So many projects, so little time! I'm working to make more time for creating in my day to day life.

12. I've recently become obsessed with essential oils because there are SO many health benefits. Patchouli is one of my favorites and I don't even care if it makes me smell like a dirty hippie.
